Daniel Bessa de Melo joined Cerejeira Namora, Marinho Falcão in 2020, as a practitioner in Civil Law.

He graduated in Law from University of Oporto Law School in 2020 and since 2022 holds a Master's degree in Private Law from the same institution. In December 2022, he presented his Master’s thesis intitled Da Ressarcibilidade dos Danos Puramente Patrimoniais no Direito Delitual Português (translatable to "Liability for Pure Economic Loss in Portuguese Tort Law”), which received praise from the jury. An extended version was published in two parts in one of the most significant Portuguese legal journal. 

During his tenure as an undergraduate he participated in complementary training courses, took part in mentoring projects and was Vice-President of the Course Committee.

He has authored over twenty scientifical articles and book chapters on the topics of Contractual Law, Tort Law, Commercial Law and Insurance Law. His scientifical articles have been published in some of the most relevant Portuguese law journals, such as the Review of Civil Law (Revista de Direito Civil) and the Portuguese Bar Association Review (Revista da Ordem dos Advogados).

He has published two books – Do Trespasse de Estabelecimento Comercial (translatable to Sale of Commercial Enterprise) and Indemnização do Dano da Privação Uso: Teoria Geral e Aplicação Jurisprudencial (translatable to Compensation for Loss of Use: General Theory and Judicial Practice) - with the largest legal publishing house in Portugal (Almedina) respectively in 2024 and 2025.

His legal opinion is frequently cited by Portuguese Appeal Courts, including the Supreme Court of Justice.

Since 2024 he has been an Associate of the Lusophone Arbitration and Mediation Association, located in Macau.
