Paulo Duarte joined Cerejeira Namora, Marinho Falcão in 2023, where he works in the Public Law area. 

He obtained his Bachelor (1992) and Master'sdegree (2001) in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, and he also completed a postgraduate program in Legal and Business Sciences (1998) at the Portuguese Catholic University. He is also a Specialist in Law at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, and is studying for a PhD in Law at the University of Portucalense Infante D. Henrique. 

He has taken part in numerous conferences and scientific events and is the author of several research papers published in peer-reviewed journals and collective works. 

He is a member of the teaching staff of the postgraduate course in consumer contracts at the Consumer Law Centre of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. 

For several years, he taught numerous subjects at the Lusófona University, the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu and the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, namely General Theory of Civil Law and Law of Obligations. 

He was the legal advisor to the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (2003-2004) and to the 8th Government of East Timor (2019-2023), where he advised the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. 

For several years he was a judge-arbitrator in Consumer Conflict Arbitration Centres, where he conducted more than a hundred arbitrations. Between 2011 and 2019 he held various positions at the Portuguese Bar Association. 

A Lawyer since 1994, he has had various experiences over the course of more than 25 years in the legal profession, from individual practice to partnership. 

He is a member of the list of arbitrators of the Mediation and Arbitration Centre of the Institute of Management and Public Administration.
